I have been away from the loop with football to much time. I loved it as a youngster, growing up. Being from Texas, it was always the Cowboys. Back then, the heroes were Roger Staubach and Tom Landry. Afterwards, after relocating to California, I found myself sometimes rooting for John Brodie of the 49ers, nonetheless it was always Cowboys in the event the two came head-to-head. These days, I’m retired. The difficulties of work deadlines, personal jobs and endless errands have receeded. And I wax nostalgically for the gridiron and the exhilaration of the tournament. Yes, I’m going to be watching far more football. You may bet on it.
